This little baby took up a lot of my time over the summer, but even better: It helped me reduce some of my fabric stash. The entire quilt top (twin size, by the way) is made from fabric that was leftover from other projects. The batting was one I had stored in the basement. The flannel backing, and floral binding were also taken from my fabric closet.
In fact, the only things I purchased for this project, were 2 spools of thread and a package of machine needles.
And as of this morning, the quilt is now considered 'purged', as I gave it to a friend. It is intended for her step-daugher, who just moved here from her native Africa. I am sure she will appreciate the flannel backing when she comes upon her first Minnesota Winter!
She was well worth it! I am sure that you will get lots of use out of it.

Quilts made of leftover fabric are the best. It always makes me feel like I'm imitating our ancestors who created quilts in the first place.
